Whatever your budget, there are plenty of opportunities for independent travel while you are staying at Harlaxton College. Some people find that they prefer the reassurance and no hassles involved in the college-sponsored trips, and decide that is the way they want to experience the UK and the rest of Europe. Others find that they prefer the challenge of organizing everything themselves. What we find is that most people enjoy a mixture of both, and we encourage students to do so.
Over the years the growth in cheap, no-frills airlines had had a massive impact on how students choose to travel. Over the last few years, with so many students choosing independent travel, the Student Development Office has compiled many resources available to students to help them plan their own travels.
This is by no means an all-inclusive collection of resources, and the best piece of advice is to plan.
Hopefully some of these pages will help you prepare your own travelling.
We have an abundance of on-campus resources to help you: from the conveniently located Travel Library outside of the Student Development Office to word of mouth, and from experienced and well-travelled staff to an Independent Travel Seminar, there is no shortage of help and advice available on-campus to help you plan your travels..
Researching trips on-line is easy, with search engines and travel web-site galore to choose from. But the abundance of information, deals and options available can sometimes be overwhelming. So we have put together a brief set of On-Line Resources, conveniently categorised, to help you get straight to the information you require.
Happy (and safe) Travels!
