Harlaxton College has excellent IT resources and has recently (Fall 2006) upgrade all lab computing facilities and installed a campus-wide wireless network.
Our computer labs are equiped with high-spec PCs with DVD/CD burners, multimedia card readers, USB 2 and firewire connections.
Printing is via combined printer/copier/scanner units which are accessible via wired and wireless attached computers.
Our computers are installed with Windows XP, Office 2003, Internet Explorer 7 and Firefox 2, as well as various other utility software.
Harlaxton has a fully compatible Wi-Fi network; thus almost any Wi-Fi certified wireless network card or wireless laptop will work on the network. The wireless network supports 802.11g (backwards compatible with 802.11b) and can support 802.11a although this is presently disabled.
We have designed our wireless network to provide full campus-wide wireless network access. Therefore, you can access the wireless network within any residential, social or academic space within the Manor and Carriage House. In addition many external areas adjacent to the Manor and Carriage House (including the Conservatory) have good coverage.
